A new houseguest
Aug. 14th, 2011 10:06 pmAtithi devo bhava, goes the famous Sanskrit saying, which means, guests are embodiment of God, but these past few days, none of us are pleased with the newest inmate of our humble abode.
Why you may ask. Well it is for the simple reason that he (or she) has four legs, a tail and plenty of brown fur. Yeah, you guessed right. it is a rat (or a mouse, I can never tell the difference.
Dad is aginst killing it and since he is the only person in our house is remotely equipped to deal with it, he refused to buy the necessary chemicals or pay a professional and purchased (or rather made me purchase) a rat trap and set it up with dried prawns as bait. Still we have had no success trapping that pesky rodent.
Personally I don't mind it staying but my sister is not very fond of creatures smaller than her, be they human or animal, and insists the rat be caught. Fun, isn't it?
